I got this book as a free download and it was a great read. I did like the storyline and can't wait what will happen next to the Pride. It was an intense read with a good villain and interesting characters. However it did leave me a bit confused about some of the love interests, but maybe they will be explained in the next book. I also hope to find out more background information on some of the other members. Overall I enjoyed it very much.Product details

This is a wonderful book that will not disappoint. Ms. Morse takes several literary elements that conventionally do not exist together in an average story romance, action and suspense, science-and blends them so realistically and compellingly that you can't help but long for more with the turn of each page.
Most important to me is that this is a story with a tremendous amount of heart. Alternating between the perspectives of two main female protagonists, I immediately felt a connection; Evie and Lexie are relatable, sympathetic characters, yet at the same time they are almost otherworldly. They are vulnerable, yet empowering. It is a contradiction that I believe we all can relate to. There are countless facets to who we are and what we are about. It is an inevitability of the human condition. Evie and Lexie are no different, and it is evident in the powerful flow of the author's prose.
As a budding non-fiction writer with ambitions of someday mastering fiction, I have a strong appreciation for the written word. Ms. Morse has an imaginative presentation that I aspire to. And not only does she merely possess it, she commands it as well. Her future is bright. I sincerely enjoyed this triumphant debut and very much look forward to the continuation of this very intriguing story.
This story has just the right amount of seduction, like the "Twilight" Series, only with a military twist and of special human powers derived from the DNA of Lions. Patricia Morse's writing is smooth with experience, and her characters pop out of the page, and I feel like I am right there with the "Pride". The story is flawless and she took painstaking measures to ensure that this story is original and intriguing. Thank you Patricia!

I don't usually read Sci-fi, but the concepts in "The Pride" are blended well with both paranormal aspects and plenty of action!If you're looking for something different to read, this book may be for you. Lexie and Evie are great characters and are fun to follow as they grow!
I chose this rating because she was a new author and I found some errors in grammar and spelling. I'm not sure who is at fault. It was more about the drama than about sex and romance which is what I look for when I choose something to read. The ending left it open for a sequel which I will read if I can get it, just to see if she improves on her technique.
So the story was pretty interesting. I felt the author was looking for free swag with all the product placement. I probability won't read boom two at least for a while
